Photos can cause a significant change in our understanding of history. Historical photographs like these can make you feel right at that moment, you stand in that place.
Books and paintings have recorded much later date, but nothing like the real sense of history pass you do not. It is true that photos could mislead viewers but still is more than books and photos.
